Welcome to Miss Duck's 6th Grade Class!

I'm so excited to be a part of your 2023-2024 school year! My name is Miss Duck. I recently graduated from Penn State Altoona in 2020. I graduated with a major in Elementary and Early Childhood Education and a minor in Special Education. This is my third year teaching at Penns Valley. I grew up not too far away in Mifflintown and graduated from Juniata High School. I can't wait to get to know this year's students and all of their supporters at home!

Our 6th graders are expected to come to school ready to learn! While at school, all students are to be Ready, Respectful and Responsible. Below is a list of ways students can achieve those three R's.

The Penns Valley Area School District was approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Education to use Flexible Instructional Days (FIDs) in place of Emergency Closures/Make-Up Days. FIDs provide for instruction that is delivered largely in an asynchronous way. The maximum number of FIDs we are approved to use in a school year is five.

Should the district implement an FID, please visit the 6th Grade Google Classroom for detailed information about the instruction assigned for that day. All 6th grade teachers will be on the same Zoom meeting and we will use breakout rooms for individual questions.

All students must log into onto the given ZOOM link by 8:15 for attendance and to begin the school day. All students are required to log in to ZOOM for each class and complete all assignments in order to be marked present for daily attendance during an FID.

You can also email me at [email protected] throughout the day!
