[District] Message from Principal Reeder

Dear Penns Valley Elementary & Intermediate Families, I would like to take a moment to introduce myself. My name is Shannon Reeder and I am honored to have been chosen as the new principal of PVEI. I was born and raised in Penns Valley and have been part of Penns Valley School District for the past 12 years, first as a Special Education teacher and then as the MTSS and Assessment Coordinator. I am passionate about our district’s vision to “empower students every day to reach individual success.” I believe we do this by celebrating the uniqueness of all of the children who attend PVEI and using their individual strengths to help grow their love of learning. To share a little bit about my background, I was raised near Madisonburg by Renee and Dave Shuey and have two brothers who still live in the area. I attended college at Lock Haven University where I met Jay, to whom I have been married now for 16 years. Jay works as a chiropractor in Lewisburg, PA, and although he is not originally from Penns Valley, he has grown to love it here as much as I do. We have two daughters, Ava (12) and Lucy (6) who are both students in the district. I am excited to be working with your children and look forward to what we will do together. Helen Keller said, “Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.” One of the reasons I love Penns Valley is because of the strong connection between the school and the community. I hope we can continue to work closely together to create a successful learning experience for all of our students. Once again, I am thankful for the opportunity to work with you and your child(ren). If you have any questions, concerns, or you would just like to say hello, please feel free to stop by! I am looking forward to a great year at PVEI.
