Shelly Houser, Classroom Teacher

This is my twenty-fifth year teaching in the Penns Valley Area School District.  I am a graduate of Lock Haven University with a bachelor's degree in Elementary and Early Childhood Education.  I obtained my master's degree in education from Wilkes University. I have four children of my own - Kyle, Megan, Alicia, and Jonathan.  Kyle works at Rider University in New Jersey.  Megan is a  Physical Therapy Assistant and works in State College.  Alicia is working towards obtaining her doctorate in Occupational Therapy from Wingate University in North Carolina.  Jonathan is a junior at Penn State leaning towards a major in Parks and Recreational Management.  In my free time I enjoy walking, sitting on the beach, doing many activities with my family, and learning how to use my Cricut!

The 2023-24 school year marks my twenty-fifth year as a paraprofessional in the Penns Valley Area School District.  I graduated from Penns Valley Area High School in 1985 and in 1989 I received an associates degree from Centre Business School.  My husband, Todd, and I currently live in Centre Hall and are proud parents of two children, Alisha and Luke, both of whom graduated from Penns Valley Area High School.  During my free time I enjoy hiking, biking, kayaking, fishing, traveling, visiting with family and friends, and relaxing on the beach.
