2023-24 School Lunch Update

 

Once again for the 2023-24 school year, Penns Valley will be able to provide free breakfasts to all students with funding from the National School Lunch Program.

In addition to the free breakfast program, there is also funding available for free lunches to those students who are qualified for reduced meal pricing.

 

For 2023-24, Penns Valley meal prices as follows:

 

Centre Hall/ Miles Township/ PVEI - Breakfast  Free

Centre Hall/ Miles Township/ PVEI - Lunch       $2.50

Penns Valley Jr/Sr High - Breakfast                   Free

Penns Valley Jr/Sr High - Lunch                        $2.80

 

For your convenience, online payments can be made directly into your child’s school lunch account in Skyward. Once you are in Skyward, click on the Food Service icon to see account balance and food purchase history. In the upper right corner is a link to make Online Payments to Efunds. Follow the instructions to fund the lunch account. Information is available on the district website under the Parent tab. Free/Reduced School Meals

 

Many of our free/reduced eligible families are qualified for free or reduced meals under the Direct Certification program and a paper application is not required. These families will receive a letter prior to the start of the school year which will acknowledge their free/reduced status.

 

For those families who have qualified for free/reduced lunches by filing an application in the past, we strongly encourage you to complete your 23-24 application as soon as possible so your status is correct and updated for the first day of the school year. And remember – those eligible and approved for reduced-priced lunches not be charged for lunches in the 2023-24 school year.  It is very important that we receive your Free/Reduced Meal Application in order for it to be processed before school starts on August 29, 2023. If your application is not on file, your child will be charged for any food they purchase in our school buildings. It will be your obligation to pay for any charges on their school meal account.
