Free and Reduced Lunch Application
2022-23 School Lunch Update
For the past two years, a federal program allowed school districts to provide all students with a free breakfast and lunch each day. Unfortunately, that program is not being continued for the 2022-23 school year.
For 2022-23, Penns Valley will return to normal, pre-pandemic food service operations, with meal prices as follows:
Centre Hall/Miles Township/PVEI - Breakfast $1.25
Centre Hall/Miles Township/PVEI - Lunch $2.45
Penns Valley JR/SR High – Breakfast $1.35
Penns Valley JR/SR High –Lunch $2.70
For your convenience, online payments can be made directly into your child’s school lunch account in Skyward. Once you are in Skyward, click on the Food Service icon to see account balance and food purchase history. In the upper right corner is a link to make Online Payments to Efunds. Follow the instructions to fund the lunch account. Information is available on the district website under the Parent tab. Here is the link to Skyward:
Free/Reduced School Meals
Many of our free/reduced eligible families are qualified for free or reduced meals under the Direct Certification program and a paper application is not required. These families will receive a letter prior to the start of the school year which will acknowledge their free/reduced status.
For those families who have qualified for free/reduced lunches by filing an application in the past, we
strongly encourage you to complete your 22-23 application as soon as possible so your status is correct and updated for the first day of the school year. It is very important that we receive your Free/Reduced Meal Application in order for it to be processed before school starts on August 30, 2022. If your application is not on file, your child will be charged for any food they purchase in our school buildings. It will be your obligation to pay for any charges on their school meal account.
Applications can be completed online at: https://www.schoolcafe.com/Pennsvalley
Paper applications are also available in our school offices.
