Welcome
Mission: The mission of the Penns Valley School District School Counseling Department is to provide a comprehensive, developmental school counseling program that ensures equal access and equity for all students. The Penns Valley School District School Counseling program will promote academic, career, social and emotional development to empower all students to reach individual success.
Purpose and Approach:
The purpose of the PVASD 339 Plan is to assure that PVASD students make a successful transition following graduation from Penns Valley High School to another school entity, college or university, or an occupation without experiencing delays in or duplicating learning or services. The PVASD 339 Plan, that documents a comprehensive process of curriculum development, instructional strategies and administrative procedures, has been designed using best practices from the American School Counselors Association, training from PDE and collaboration between PVASD school counselors, administrators and CPI personnel.
The Penns Valley Area School District (PVASD) maintains an Article of Agreement with the Central Pennsylvania Institute of Science & Technology (CPI). CPI is considered a satellite program to provide vocational education to PVASD students. PA Code, Title 22, Chapter 339, which establishes Vocational Education requires satellite vocational education programs like CPI to maintain articulation agreements with school districts that are updated annually.
